I really like smiting and knowing that Izzy doesn't like the line that much, I was pleasantly surprised with the adjustment of Ray of Judgment. A crap elite turned into the first smite aoe spell (without 'adjacent' required). Just nuke ahead. Ideal if you want to specialise in smite.

My next hope: 'word of censure'. If the 33% negative effect would be removed, that skill could become the basis of a real chain gun build, while at the same time have the abilty to keep it spamming to finish of a foe if you have eneough energy ofcourse. The high energy cost of that skill is more than enough imho.

Or give it some other downside, such as substantially reduced damage if the target is below 33%. As things currently stand, the possibility of having a build built around Word of Censure being disabled because you messed up through misreading their health bar (or it dropped faster than you expected due to the efforts of your allies) isn't really worth the benefit.

Maybe even just reduce the penalty recharge to 10 or even 5 seconds - this would mean it couldn't be used to finish someone off, but the penalty for messing up isn't so harsh.

In general... I think the biggest thing of 2008 has been the newfound willingness to shake things up and bring in major changes. Like'em or hate'em, these have had a significant effect on some playstyles. Inciendary Arrows, for instance - still fun post-nerf, albeit not as good as it was. While Ray of Judgement has had me playing an actual smiter rather than a healer or prot with Castigation Signet for energy management and token offense. (Admittedly, with Smiter's Boon, which does still work in PvE after all...)

Shouting into vent something about "GAHHHHHHH MURDER THE LUXONS! GLORY TO THE KURZICK ARMY! GET THIS BITCH!"

I'm a very strong Primal Rage warrior and the buff to it made me happy.

Default sorry if somewhere in there has non guild wars related stuffs :P

Guild Wars has given me another fun filled year

We have a new community manager
A shady (not sure if i can use that word there) company is suing guild wars.
A Mom cyber bullying a child, fortunately not over Guild Wars!
and oh, this is quite memorable, i build a Jingle Bear Army hehehe
I has return to play in Random Arena, watch out

Things to remember for players who likes to enter Halloween contest, if there will be one in 2009. Learn to make COSTUME.

I forgot to mention, the very big and famous Murdock update

The best of 2008 were all those juicy movies, screenshots and beta's of Guild Wars 2.

For Guild Wars 1: I liked the Kurzick/Luxon title changes and the resurrection of the Jade Quarry that came with it. I also liked the special events a lot. (Dragon Festival etc.)

Best Nerf : Ursan

Best Buff : Life Sheath <Fun Skill to use now

Most Lol-Able of either - Smiters Boon Followed Closely by Palm Strike and Mark Of Insecurity as the latter are really quite annoyingly gay

Remembering Gaile promising exciting new GW2 info in 2008 and failing to deliver once again.

General decline of the game on my part, mostly because having done everything I humanly can.

But also Xunlai predictions, which provides a nice income for everyone, casual or hardcore gamer. (I think this started in 2008?)

I remember not playing hardly at all during the year... and ya the MPB runs, doing around 300-400 runs and not getting a MPB.
